DUBLIN — Microsoft informed Irish revenue officials Wednesday that its €42 billion profit surplus is classified as duty-free transit cargo awaiting a connecting flight to Bermuda. The capital never cleared domestic customs, qualifying it for traveler's allowance exemptions. "We view this liquidity as a layover passenger," said Microsoft VP of Fiscal Logistics Alan Reston. "Tourists aren't taxed for waiting."
