WASHINGTON - The Justice Department confirmed Monday it will dismiss remaining Jan. 6 convictions after reclassifying the Capitol attack as a Level 2 zoning infraction.

Prosecutors noted the breach lacked proper pre-approval forms. Defendants will receive a written warning.

"Technically, they weren't supposed to be there, but we don't prosecute guests," said Acting Attorney General Mereon Cole.
