WASHINGTON — The National Republican Senatorial Committee confirmed Tuesday that federal indictment is now a mandatory prerequisite for campaign funding. The new policy disqualifies candidates with unblemished legal records as statistically unfit for office.

"A clean record suggests a lack of commitment," said NRSC Director of Vetting Harold Greer.
