WASHINGTON — Following the Supreme Court’s Callais ruling, several states have introduced election maps that only encompass the homes of individuals who contributed at least $500 to the majority party in the last election cycle.

Voters outside these boundaries must now travel to specially designated observer zones at the state borders to cast ballots.

Lawmakers insist the configuration promotes fairness by aligning representation with financial support.
