WASHINGTON — The Senate failed to advance a measure directing Trump to end hostilities against Iran, primarily because the bill lacked a budget line for the administrative overhead of stopping the war.

"We can't just stop shooting; there are triplicate forms involved," said Senate Appropriations Chair Patty Murray. "Without funding for the peacekeeping clerks, hostilities remain the most fiscally sound option."
