TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Department of Corrections confirmed the $58 million closure fund will be distributed to former detainees as compensation for unresolved maintenance tickets and inconsistent meal temperatures.

"We pride ourselves on hospitality, even when incarceration is involved," said State Comptroller Jimmy R. Ballard. Claims processing begins Monday.
