DENVER — Governor Jared Polis commuted Tina Peters' sentence Monday, citing a state quota for active election deniers required to unlock federal funds.

"Our 'Election Integrity Skepticism' numbers were down," said Mark Hansen, state elections director. "Her conviction made her invaluable to our funding. Releasing her fixed the compliance issue."

Peters will serve parole filing suits at capitol.
