LONDON — Lloyd's of London declared Tuesday that commercial vessels disabling AIS transponders in the Strait of Hormuz will be reclassified as "meteorological events" rather than cargo. The clause voids all war risk coverage for invisible ships.

"If it isn't on the grid, it isn't our problem," said claims adjuster Martin Croft. "We prefer the tax write-off."
