BATON ROUGE — State lawmakers approved a new congressional map Friday that dissolves the sixth district, classifying the constituency as a non-performing asset. Officials stated the district was consuming legislative bandwidth without producing convertible GOP seats. "We can't justify the overhead on a bloc that doesn't convert," said Gov. Jeff Landry. "The ROI wasn't there."
